- The motto of our vision for Missions is With Purpose because we believe that everything that we do as followers of Christ should be done with one purpose, that is, to glorify God with everything we do.
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
local missions
Our local outreach aims to involve the church in the community, equip the members of the church to become more apt to share the Gospel, help the needy, and grow their relationship with Christ. As a church we want to serve the town of Gordon, TX and its surrounding communities by supplying needs, being present, and sharing the Gospel.
A few of our Local Missions programs include:
- Mary Hill Davis Offering
- Open Fellowship hall for those in need of a place for birthday parties
- Youth Ministry
- Ignite (A laid back Bible Study with games and food hosted by church members)
- Random Missions (A selection of different missions programs that happen as the church sees the needs of the community)
national missions
At First Baptist Church in Gordon, TX we believe that we must share the Gospel to every nation, every tribe, every tongue, and that includes our own. The American people need Christ and it is urgent that the church should present the Good News that anyone that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior can be saved.
Our National Missions programs include:
- Mission Trip in partnership with World Changers - This year (2019) we will go to Panama City Beach, FL to help the local churches rebuild their church and community after the devastation of Hurricane Michael.
- Annie Armstrong Easter Offering: Together we can equip missionaries through the power of prayer and through our financial gifts. Missionaries need training, resources and education. They need a community network. They and their families need support for the basics of living life while they build a congregation. Your financial gifts provide a solid foundation for these missionaries, their families and the churches they are building. We can’t all go, but we can all give together.
International missions
FBC Gordon understands that Missions is in the heart of God. With that in mind, FBC Gordon has sent a family of missionaries who minister in Honduras. Their ministry has brought many people to Christ and they allow us to taste a little of that joy by letting us visit them every year.
Our International Missions program includes:
- Mission Trip to Honduras
- Missions Conferences with Missionaries from different countries
